One of the perks of being a photographer is that you have an excuse to buy all the coolest new gadgets.
One of the biggest struggles of being a photographer is having a never ending supply of fun new gadgets coming out, every reason in the world to buy them but forcing yourself to put down your company credit card. I'm sure you're like me and love techie gadgets. I recently just picked up a Western Digital My Passport Wireless Pro. It's a hard drive that can back up your cameras memory cards while your away from your computer like on vacation, or a trip. It also has built in WiFi so you can connect to the drive with your iPad and download the photos to edit them or even watch a movie on and it wont take up any space on your iPad. Super cool tech BUT How much do I need it? I can tell myself I'd use it at a wedding to back up the photos before I get home. But weddings can be hectic and Im not sure how much I would really do that. So many awesome gadgets like that come out each and every day. Practicing self control can be a problem for me.
What was your last purchase you thought would revolutionize your photography or your business but ended up being thrown in your camera bag to never come out again?
